Finally, I have gone for Pilates, not for a chronic back or neck problem, but to strengthen and tone and to work on core strengthening. I wish I had listened to my own advice sooner because I love it. Pilates is hard work but the instructors are fabulous and take a lot of time to explain the basic techniques and work with me through each new exercise. The equipment is great and there is a variety of tools for different types of treatments readily available. I feel better already and can tell a difference in the way my clothes fit. All my hesitation evaporated when I happened to catch a segment on Fox 5 News. Beth Galvin' s Health Watch spotlighted two women with back problems. They were students at Inspire Health Atlanta and they were doing Pilates, even with back pain !
